A world where Kiswahili carries learning, knowledge and opportunity.
Kiswahili should help shape our future.
FUMBO began with a simple but powerful belief. Kiswahili should not only preserve our past. It should help shape our future. We saw an opportunity to use technology, education, creativity, and culture to make Kiswahili more visible, accessible, and relevant to a new generation growing up in an increasingly digital world. What started as an idea to create engaging digital experiences in Kiswahili grew into a broader commitment to strengthen the language and expand its place in education, innovation, entertainment, and everyday digital life.
FUMBO is built in Tanzania to turn that commitment into a lasting social and cultural mission. We believe the future of Kiswahili should be built collectively, with communities, educators, researchers, government institutions, cultural bodies, and development partners working together. Our goal is to support initiatives that preserve and advance Kiswahili while creating meaningful opportunities for young people to learn, create, innovate, and participate in the digital future through their own language.
